The ship's records say this code was published on 1 April 1998, as a joke about the things people were doing to HTTP. The spec says that trying to brew coffee with a teapot should get you this error, and that the body may be short and stout.
It got a sequel for tea on 1 April 2014, which is where this unit's menu comes from. The current HTTP spec reserves 418 because it has been "deployed as a joke often enough for the code to be unusable for any future use", so the joke is now permanent.
The ship and the "X-Crew-Would-Like" header are ours, and the replicator belongs to Starfleet. None of them is in any of the specs.
